Welcome to the American Dermoscopy Website:
Dear Colleagues,

It brings me great pleasure to announce the first American Dermoscopy Meeting (ADM) to be held within the majestic Grand Teton National Park on June 22-23, 2012. Similar to trends in other parts of the western world, many dermatologists in the United States are using dermoscopy or are eager to learn the benefits of dermoscopy. In fact, it appears that we have arrived at the tipping point, with an ever-increasing desire of many dermatologists, family physicians, nurse practioners, and physician assistants to become acquainted with dermoscopy. The increasing demand for dermoscopy teaching, coupled with the limited number of dermoscopy educators, has created a void, which the ADM is designed to fill. The content of the first ADM course is primarily structured for dermoscopy beginners and intermediates. However, even individuals proficient in the use of dermoscopy will derive benefits from attending this course.

The majority of medical conferences are held in large metropolitan centers and as a consequence, most American health care providers, as well as visiting international attendees, are well acquainted with the big cities of the US. While cities have a lot to offer, the most scenic and spectacular parts of America – the National Parks - remain unseen and are known to most only by name or images viewed in magazines, computer monitors and television. Each year the ADM will host the dermoscopy course at a different National Park. These parks are truly masterpieces of nature that provide visitors with a myriad of outdoor activities to choose from. We invite you to come and learn dermoscopy in surroundings that hold some of the most breathtaking vistas the world has to offer.

I look forward to meeting you at the Grand Teton National Park in June 2012 at the first American Dermoscopy Meeting.

With warm regards,
Dr. Ashfaq A. Marghoob
Course director
